Curriculum

Our Pre-Kindergarten and Preschool curriculums are a blend of teacher-initiated activities that build on children’s interests and children’s self-directed activities and play. Activities are suited to children’s ages and abilities. It also addresses the intellectual, social, emotional, physical, and creative areas of development.  We use The Creative Curriculum® for academic content and assessment tools.

The goals for the Pre-Kindergarten class include, but are not limited to, things such as recognizing name, numbers, and alphabet, writing name correctly, knowing full name, phonic awareness, listening, following directions, and pencil and scissor control.

Goals for Preschool include such things as socialization, communication skills, self-help, fine motor skills, and identifying colors and shapes

Snacks and Meals

The Preschool participates in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). This means we are inspected by this State agency to assure that we serve wholesome, nutritional and balanced snacks and meals. We offer a nutritional snack every morning. Breakfast is available for early birds, for an extra fee.

Who runs these programs?

These programs are a service of Saint Bernard Preschool & Daycare.

Barb Kane is the Director.

The caregivers are staff of the Preschool & Daycare. We are dedicated to the wellbeing of each child who attends our school. Each teacher on the staff is trained annually in Infant/Child/Adult CPR, First Aid, and Universal Precautions & Blood borne Pathogens. The Director and lead teachers also participate in at least 12 hours of continuing education in early childhood each year. A background check, drug screening, and abuse & neglect check have been run on each staff member.
