Curriculum

We base our preschool activities on The Creative Curriculum® and on the Foundations to the Indiana Academic Standards for Young Children from Birth to Age 5.  Through play and experiences, children are introduced to the following seven academic areas:  English/language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, physical education and health, music and visual arts.

Of course, we also work on socialization and self-help skills and give the children lots of TLC.  We believe that respecting the children and teaching them to respect others is essential to their development.

Snacks and Meals

The Preschool participates in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). This means we are inspected by this State agency to assure that we serve wholesome, nutritional and balanced snacks and meals. We offer a nutritional snack every morning. Breakfast is available for early birds, for an extra fee.

Who runs these programs?

These programs are a service of Saint Bernard Preschool & Daycare.

Barb Kane is the Director.

The caregivers are staff of the Preschool & Daycare. We are dedicated to the well-being of each child who attends our school. Each teacher on the staff is trained annually in Infant/Child/Adult CPR, First Aid, and Universal Precautions & Blood borne Pathogens. The Director and lead teachers also participate in at least 12 hours of continuing education in early childhood each year. A background check, drug screening, and abuse & neglect check have been run on each staff member.
