Beyond academics, the
faculty and staff at Saint Bernard are dedicated to
helping students reach their highest potential as people.
A Saint Bernard education would not be complete if
students were not encouraged to develop a total Christian
outlook. Teachers, administrators, and parents share the
common goal of helping students to become educated,
mature Christians. At Saint Bernard, students and staff
have the opportunity to regularly join in prayer,
worship, and the celebration of liturgies. |

Competitive excellence
takes many forms at Saint Bernard. Our students win
honors in the classroom, in scholastic and musical
competitions, and in athletics.
They compete successfully in the Annual Diocesan
Tournaments and play a strong schedule against area
public school teams. Our rich athletic heritage has
produced more than its share of athletes who have
successfully competed on the South Spencer High School
teams. Our sports program includes boys and
girls basketball and cheerleading. Students are
able to participate in the football, swimming, and track
programs at South Spencer Middle School. |

Tradition is the Difference

The Saint Bernard
tradition offers students a place to gain strength
through knowledge, a place to grow spiritually, a place
to excel in a variety of activities, and a place for
every student to belong. Belonging to the Saint Bernard
family also means joining another Class of...
graduates and competing effectively in the world beyond
elementary school. Saint Bernard is a place for the mind,
body, and spirit to flourish. It is more than a place to
learn; it is a place to learn how to live. Tradition wears
many faces at Saint Bernard Catholic School. It is
smiling faces on the playground at recess; intense faces
on the basketball court during a game; and earnest faces
filling the classrooms and halls. All these faces are
provided an opportunity to grow academically,
spiritually, emotionally, and physically in the spirit of
the Saint Bernard tradition.

A Place to Learn |

Strong academics are
indeed a Saint Bernard tradition. One look at the numbers
confirms that statement because 80% of Saint Bernard
students seek higher education. Our outstanding
curriculum is diverse enough to allow students to
challenge themselves, and our low student-to-faculty
ratio allows our teachers time to take a personal
interest in each students progress. Saint Bernard
is a member of the National Catholic Education
Association and the Indiana Non-Public Education
Association. In order to maintain our high standards,
Saint Bernard is incorporating a technology program in
all areas of learning. Our graduates will find themselves
well equipped in furthering their education. |
